24 Novembre 2008 Quelques photos de l'avancement des travaux: - la démolition au rez-de-chaussée est finie, le 2e container est presque rempli (mon chéri en sait quelque chose, c'était sa job de vendredi!), il n'y a plus de salle de bains, c'est tout ouvert (mais on va refermer un peu pour faire une salle d'eau). Ils ont commencé à arracher les planchers (on en récupère certaines planches pour remplacer celles qui sont trop abîmées à l'étage) - les modifications à la structure avancent bien. C'est assez long car les poutres sont nombreuses et très lourdes. L'ingénieure en structure a dû revenir, il faut mettre davantage de poutres et piliers de soutien que prévu; - la démolition a commencé à l'étage: pas de photos, il y avait trop de poussière et les photos sont toutes blanches! A few pictures of the renovation work and the accomplishments this 2d week: - the demolition is over on the 1rst floor, the 2d container is already full (my dear boyfriend knows it, he filled it in last Friday!), the bathroom is gone, completely ripped off, it is a big open space now (but won't stay exactly like this, a small powder room will come behind the stairs). They started removing the old wooden floor, we are keeping some of them to restore the one on the 2d floor (not replaced). - The changes to the structure are coming alone pretty well. It is quite long as there are many beams to add, and they are very heavy. The structure ingeneeer had to come back, more beams and supporting pilars to come !; - the demolition started on the 2d floor: sorry no picture, there was so much dust the photos are all white !

L'escalier ne restera malheureusement pas complètement ouvert, mais presque (autant que possible!). La porte vers la cave sera condamnée, il y a un autre accès. The stairs will not unfortunately not stay completely open, but almso, as much as possible ! The door down to the cave will be removed ad be gone (wall instead) as there is another access somewhere else. Voilà ! La démolition devrait être finie en fin de semaine, la structure en fin de semaine prochaine. L'isolation devrait commencée à être posée cette semaine au RDC. D'ici 2 semaines, les murs de gypse commenceront à être montés...et finis, on l'espère, pour Noel! Nous sommes si impatients !

Here it is ! Demolition should be over next week-end, the structure at the end of next week, They start isolating this week on the 1rst floow. In 2 weeks, gypse walls should start to appear...and hopefully be done By Christmas ! We are so impatient !
